ROLF OHLHAUSEN, FAIA
Partner

Rolf was born in Germany and grew up in New York, attending Cooper Union for his undergraduate degree and receiving his M. Arch from Harvard University. After teaching design for two years at the University of Oregon, he returned to New York where he established his own practice. Rolf joined Prentice & Chan, Ohlhausen as partner in 1970.

A commitment to public and institutional work has characterized Rolf's professional practice. Among the wide range of his urban design and architecture projects are the Design Guidelines for the rehabilitation New York City's subway stations, and the Master Plan for MetroTech, a major technology center in Brooklyn, New York

Rolf has continued to teach and has served as design critic at many universities including the City College of New York, the University of Pennsylvania. Harvard University, Columbia University, and the Cornell College of Architecture. He was the President of the AIA NYC chapter and serves on numerous boards. He has won the St. Gaudens Award from Cooper Union, the Trustees Award from New School University, and AIA National Honor Awards. Rolf is a member of NCARB and is registered in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.


MARK DuBOIS, AIA
Partner

Mark DuBois was born in Boston and grew up in Toronto. He received his undergraduate degree from Harvard in Astrophysics and built a radio telescope for Columbia University's Physics Department before starting his second career as an architect. He got his Masters in Architecture from Yale, and then spent two years working in Paris before going to Gwathmey Seigel Associates in 1986. He joined Prentice & Chan, Ohlhausen in 1989 and became a partner there in 1991.

Mark leads the design and management effort on a wide variety of projects, ranging from houses and art galleries to schools and community centers. He has directed teams of specialists and consultants for highly demanding projects including a museum in Beijing. His background allows him to integrate and take advantage of ever more complex technologies, which is now a prerequisite to achieve the highest level of aesthetics while meeting all of our clients' requirements.

He has been a guest critic at Columbia, Temple and Parsons. He is a member of NCARB and is registered in New York, Connecticut and New Jersey.



DEBORAH FANTERA, AIA
Associate Partner

Deborah was born in Rome, New York, and studied architecture at Syracuse University. Deborah's interest in the craft of architecture led her to work at Cho, Wilks & Benn in Baltimore and Una Architectural Studios in New York before joining Prentice & Chan, Ohlhausen in 1990 where she became an Associate. She has been a key player at Ohlhausen DuBois since its inception in 1996.

Deborah has managed many complex and challenging projects from programming through construction, including large corporate interiors in Rockefeller Center, the Van Dyke Community Center in Brooklyn, and the Tussaud's Wax Museum in Times Square. She has recently completed the fast-track design of the first new Combined Fire/EMS Station in Staten Island. She is registered in New York.
